Rihanna’s soon-to-be single from the Confessions of a Shopaholic soundtrack, “Bad Girl” ft. Chris Brown, feels oddly familiar to me. I’m torn between whether it sounds more like an outtake from Rihanna’s Good Girl Gone Bad or a limper version of Fergie’s namedropping “Labels or Love”, the theme from the Sex and the City movie.

Unlike “Labels or Love”, I’d say that “Bad Girl” lacks the character necessary to make a track about flashy materialism sound playful, but perhaps a spunky video could change my mind.
